About Us
High Quality Solutions
Delivering reliability and quality is our primary goal!
Founded to deliver the designs you need
2Sea was founded by two experienced maritime engineers who saw an opportunity to combine their expertise with a fresh, client-focused approach. With a strong foundation in ship design, offshore structures, and equipment engineering, we bring both technical excellence and innovative thinking to every project.
At 2Sea, we believe that reliable design is the key to long-term success, which is why we emphasize precision, efficiency, and practicality in everything we do. Just as important as our engineering expertise is our commitment to building strong and sustainable relationships—working closely with our clients to understand their needs and deliver solutions that stand the test of time and contributing to a sustainable future.

Meet our team!

Gijsbert Jacobse
Since graduating from the master’s degree Ship Design at Delft University of Technology in 2004, Gijsbert has been working in the offshore sector. Of his 20 years of experience, he has been a project manager for 13 years and a department manager for over 4 years. All these years of managing experience for many different projects gives Gijsbert the ability to confidently handle any challenge in the offshore engineering sector.

Willem van der Leeden
Willem graduated in 2013 from Delft University of Technology in the master Shipping Management. From the beginning of his career, Willem has been working in the offshore sector, with the last few years gaining managing experience as project leader. This solid foundation of engineering knowledge makes Willem capable of designing solutions for the most complex offshore problems.
In more detail…
Gijsbert and Willem combine many years of experience. This experience is based in hydrodynamics (diffraction analyses in AQWA, time-domain lifting analyses in Orcaflex, etc.) and motion analyses. However, it includes vessel design and conversion assignments as well, from FEA analyses of the cutter ladder of the largest cutter suction dredges in the world, site-specific assessments (SSA), to a boom rest for the Bokalift1 and multiple smaller items, such as integration of a helideck on a superstructure.
Our most notable experience is in the sector of offshore renewables. We have extensive experience in designing grillage and seafastening structures for wind turbine components (tower grillages, blade rack substructures, nacelle seafastenings, seafastenings for lifting tools), as well for foundation campaigns (jacket grillages, MP seafastening, pin pile seafastenings). Our work ranged from simple structural calculations (ULS), checking the yield, maximising material performance based on material certificates, but also doing checks on buckling (unstiffened plate, panel, beam-column), lifting calculations, rigging arrangements and fatigue calculations (as well as detailed bolted connection fatigue connections, including imperfections).
Our vessel design knowledge was well suited in case local vessel reinforcements were required for safe working of the seafastening. Additionally, we were in-depth involved in the latest blade rack designs for the two main offshore WTG suppliers (SGRE & Vestas). Whether including complex moving structure with winches or hydraulics, or as simple as possible with as few moving parts as possible, whether in Ansys APDL, Ansys Workbench, RFEM, Krasta, Mathcad or preferably simple calculations in excel – our experience can lead to various design solutions from which one will be the one you are looking for.
Based on the extensive experience in the variety of subjects of Maritime and Offshore design and engineering, we will be able to support you as consultant, project manager or engineering partner.
